They have helped countless people to earn industry-recognised qualifications and start new careers as plumbers, electricians, gas engineers, et cetera; they also offer a variety of options for established tradespeople who wish to broaden their skillsets, update their knowledge, and earn more advanced qualifications.
Creating a website for a company that offers such a wide range of services to such a diverse array of customers is always a challenge, but we at Designer Websites once again proved that we were more than up to the task. Cross-Platform FunctionalityOne of the main issues with Access Training’s old website was its design, which was in dire need of a refresh after many years of use. The old site looked crowded and text-heavy, and it didn’t function well on mobile devices; the new site, on the other hand, boasts a responsive design that delivers a fantastic user experience across all platforms, from desktop computers to smartphones and tablets. We also drastically reduced the amount of copy on the website, thereby simplifying the task of reading about your chosen course. Key details of each training package are easily gleaned from the crisp, user-friendly course pages, and it’s easy to contact Access Training via phone or email if more information is required. Finding Your CourseAccess Training offer several dozen different training packages, and we realised quite early in this project that the uninitiated user might find it difficult to establish which course was right for them. To overcome this problem, we designed a sophisticated ‘Course Finder’ tool that allows each user to quickly jump to the field they’re interested in (e.g. plumbing) and see at a glance what each course has to offer. More confident users can use the ‘Course Search’ option to go straight to the qualification they need. Contacting the CompanyThe primary aim of the Access Training website is to drive enquiries. Every part of the site was designed with a view to driving people further down the so-called ‘conversion funnel’ and towards the point at which they’re ready to get in touch with Access Training’s sales team. Contact forms allow visitors to contact the company from practically any page they might be looking at; all enquiries are automatically fed from the website into the company’s CRM software, ensuring that each lead is received and followed up properly.
